Cosmetic Centers of Hawaii’s Medical Spa provides a wide variety of procedures that can treat skin conditions and improve your appearance. All procedures are done under the supervision of Dr. Stover.

A Medical Spa is much more than your average spa.

A Medical Spa is different from what comes to mind when you hear the word “spa.” The spas that you see at hotels and resorts – or even the day spas that provide massages, relaxation, and superficial cosmetic services like waxing – are not medical spas. With a licensed physician always on the premises, a medical spa can provide more intensive, medically-based non-surgical procedures that can make a significant difference to its patients.

The cosmetologists and technicians at day spas and hotel spas are not qualified to perform medical spa procedures. Unfortunately, some of these spas add treatments like chemical peels, injectables, and laser procedures to their roster and attempt to offer them under potentially dangerous circumstances without a supervising doctor.

You receive medical treatment and pampering.

At a medical spa, you are pampered as you are at a day spa or hotel spa, but you receive safe, medically viable treatments that can provide long-lasting, beautifying results.

Our procedures include:

Chemical peels — A treatment for dull skin, superficial wrinkles, mild acne, large pores, and actinic keratosis.
Microdermabrasion — An exfoliating treatment for dull skin, fine lines and wrinkles, mild acne, large pores, superficial scars, and uneven skin tone.
BOTOX Cosmetic and Dysport — Botulinum Toxin Type A injections to reduce expression lines and wrinkles.
Dermal filler injectables, such as Artefill, Restylane, Juvederm, Sculptra, Perlane, and Radiesse — Procedures that improve the appearance of redness/rosacea, excessive pigmentation, spider veins, large pores, and scars.
Laser treatments, such as Fraxel, Active FX, and Deep FX — Procedures that improve the appearance of redness/rosacea, excessive pigmentation, spider veins, large pores, and scars.
Laser hair removal — A treatment using laser technology that removes unwanted hair.
Tattoo removal — A laser procedure that removes the pigment of tattoos.
Thermage skin tightening — Radiofrequency technology that tightens the skin of the face, stomach, thighs, and other areas of the body.
Medically viable cellulite treatment — A deep-heating Capacitive Radiofrequency (CRF) treatment to tighten and smooth the skin.
Latisse eyelash lengthener — A formula that increases the length, thickness, and darkness of your eyelashes.
Prescription grade skin care product lines — The latest technology in prescription skin care to treat a host of issues (such as acne) and prevent conditions, including skin cancer and the signs of aging.

Spa services are available in Hawaii through Dr. John D. Stover's Cosmetic Centers of Hawaii. Dr. Stover is a board-certified cosmetic surgeon and a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon with offices in Kona, Hilo and Waimea on the Big Island of Hawaii. He is a fellow of both the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
