Nasal Airway Disorders
Patients with difficulty breathing through their nostrils come to Dr. Stover to have the inner nasal airway surgically opened. This typically involved reshaping of the nasal septum, or septoplasty. Dr. Stover has extensive experience in septoplasty. He has taught many other surgeons this important procedure over the past several years.
Airway obstruction frustrates many patients and may be due to many causes. Most problems can be treated with medicines alone. Severe problems not relieved with medicines alone can be improved with surgery. Straightening the cartilaginous nasal septum and reducing enlarged turbinates along the inner lower lateral portion of the nasal airway will give many patients long-lasting improvement and much relief.
