What is Latisse?

If you feel that your eyelashes are too short, too sparse, and/or too light in color, you may be a good candidate for Latisse.

Latisse is a relatively new product made by the same company that makes Botox, and it is the only product approved by the FDA that promotes eyelash growth. Latisse was discovered accidentally when glaucoma patients experienced fuller, longer lashes as a result of their medication. The company then isolated the ingredient that created the enhanced eyelashes and developed Latisse.

What Can I Expect From Latisse?

Latisse produces longer, fuller, darker eyelashes – both upper and lower – within four to eight weeks.
It is applied at home by the patient rather than at the doctor's office.
The results are achieved by applying the solution to your upper eyelids every day. It is not necessary to apply the solution to your lower eyelids, as enough of the product will reach the lower lashes through the natural blinking of your eyes.
This daily application must be continued for three to four months. After that, Latisse can be applied every other day to maintain the results.
If you stop using Latisse, the effects of the product will wear off within a month or so.
Latisse is easy to apply and comes with a sterile applicator. Dr. Stover will give you a prescription for Latisse and will show you how to use it properly.
Before giving you the prescription, Dr. Stover will examine your eyes and ask you questions about your medical history. While Latisse is safe for most people, you should not use it if you are pregnant, suffer from allergies that affect your eyes, or take heart medication.
