Fat Transfer

Your own fat is excellent for injecting into lines and grooves of the face, restoring the roundness and fullness of youth. With age we tend to lose a portion of the fat in our skin which makes us look somewhat shriveled as we age. Cheeks may look hollowed and the brow and cheeks may sag. Dr. Stover can liposuction fat in unwanted areas and gently transfer to areas of the face that need it in a procedure called fat transfer or fat grafting.

The harvest technique that Dr. Stover will use is called Micro Liposuction, which involves harvesting small amounts of fat using small cannulas resulting in tiny scars, minimal recovery, as well as minimal risk of lumps, bumps or irregularities. The fat is gently filtered using the Lipivage technique (www.lipivage.com), then gently injected into lines and grooves as well as sunken areas of the face. Injecting under the brow will result in an excellent lifting of the brow.

The filling resulting from fat transfer is different in everyone, but often lasts several years. Typically 2-3 sessions are required to achieve nice long-term filling.
