Cheek and Chin Implants
Dr. Stover performs augmentation of regions of the face such as the cheeks, chin and angle of the lower jaw with solid preformed implants. He usually uses the solid silicone implants made by Implantec (www.implantech.com) or the solid porous polypropylene implants made by Porex (www.porexsurgical.com). Through small incisions in the mouth or under the chin, Dr. Stover can place the carefully sized solid implant for a perfect fit to fill out the chin, cheeks and angle of the jaws. Small titanium screws may be placed to keep the implants in place and then the incisions are closed with sutures that will dissolve in about 2 weeks. Swelling and bruising are expected and will usually subside in 10 -14 days.
