What Is a Neck Lift?
A neck lift may include liposuction to remove excess fat, a cervicoplasty to remove excess skin and a platysmaplasty to remove or tighten neck muscles and remove unwanted band lines. During the procedure, Dr. Stover will make a small incision underneath the chin and around the ears. Sutures and/or staples will be used to close the incision, and an elastic dressing will be placed around the face and neck. After the treatment, patients will be asked to wear a bandage for up to one week. A moderate amount of swelling and bruising should be expected following the procedure, which normally subsides within 7 to 10 days.
